A Couple of Awards

I received two awards over the last few days, so I just wanted to thank those who gave them to me. First, I received the "Versatile Blogger Award" from LMD Stampin and Sparkled Memories. Thank you so much! I was so happy to receive this award from the both of you!

Here are the rules for receiving this award:
1. Thank the person who gave it to you
2.Tell 7 things about yourself
3. Send this award to 15 bloggers

So, here are 7 things about me:
1. My favorite food is pasta. I also love chocolate. To me, anything with chocolate is great!
2. My favorite color growing up was purple. My room was purple and my favorite teddy bear was purple.  Now, as an adult, I love the colors pink and brown, as well as pink and green.
3. I am an elementary school teacher and have a Master's Degree in Elementary Education. I would love to get my Doctorate in Education eventually.
4. I don't watch a lot of TV, but I do love the show, "Dancing With the Stars." I really miss Derek this season. Does anyone know where he is and if he's coming back? I also love "Cake Boss."  I want to visit Carlo's Bakery, meet Buddy, and bring home lots of cookies and cake. Maybe this summer….
5. When I'm not crafting, I love to read. I love children's literature. My favorite adult author is Nicholas Sparks. I have read every one of his books.
6. I married my best friend. Literally! I met him in the seventh grade at a summer program, which was held at a small quaint college.  Five years later, I went to that college where the summer program was held. We remained friends, but never dated. We helped each other get through those fun, but tough college years and five years later married. We now have two beautiful children.  I have lived my own fairy tale.
7. Blogging has been so much fun for me. I am so glad Jen's Craft Corner came to be.  I had wanted to have my own site for a while. Now, I just wish I did this sooner. I have become friends with people all around the world. Although I have never met them in person, I thank them for inspiring me to do this. The comments on my site brighten my day, each and every day. Thank you to all my blogging friends and followers!

The Second Award is from my friend Julie at A Little Bit of Bling. Julie and I starting blogging within a few months of each other. She was just in my first blog hop and had two projects ready to go for that day. She has been wonderful and I am so happy to see her blog doing well. Visit Julie and leave her a nice comment. Thank you Julie! I so appreciate this nice award.

The rules of this award are:

1. Post about it on your blog with a link to the sender.

2. Pass it on to  those who visit your blog and leave comments regularly.

Thank you to all! I so appreciate these awards and I appreciate you!

Birthday Sundaes Challenge #2

Hi,

Come join us at Birthday Sundaes! This week, we were asked to create a Spring birthday card.

HOW TO MAKE:
I cut a piece of paper to measure 11 inches long and 5 inches wide.
I scored the card 3 inches from the top and 3 inches from the bottom.
I cut three pieces of paper to measure 3 inches by 5 inches. I cut a different piece for the top of the card using the same measurement.
Using adhesive, I adhered the 4 pieces of paper to the top front, the botton front. I opened the card and put the other two pieces of paper on the top and the bottom part.
I then took a piece of ribbon (18 inches long) and adhered that to the card
I then used scrap pieces of paper to make the Happy Birthday Sentiment and added two green brads. I also used scrap pieces to make the diamond base for the flower at the top. I then used a flower sticker I had in my collection and adhered that to the top.
Tied a cute bow and it's done! It came out really cute!

Welcome To My Spring Blog Hop!

Welcome to my very first blog hop!
Spring is in the air and the warm weather is on it's way. So, why not get some crafty ideas for Spring!

Here is the banner I made just for this blog hop. I figured this was my first blog hop, so why not make my first banner. I have it on my mantle in my living room and it gives the room a nice Spring feeling.

This was made using mostly my Gypsy and everything was cut on my Cricut. I used "Gypsy Wanderings" to cut the base and the white scallops. I used my "Pooh Font" cartridge to cut the letters and the flowers were cut using my "Walk In My Garden" cartridge. I used my Cuttlebug to emboss the white scallops. Using three different colors of grosgrain ribbon, I tied the pages together.

How about some blog candy?
Robyn, from    www.mypinkstamper.com, is sponsoring today's blog hop. She graciously offered her new stamp set "Fabulous Phrases." Thank you Robyn!

Operation Write Home

Hi,

I was introduced to the Operation Write Home site and I thought how great it would be to see others join in the effort to send cards to our brave men and women serving over seas and protecting our country. I will be making extra cards in the upcoming days and weeks. I decided if I make one card, I might as well make 2 or 3 or more!

I put the "Operation Write Home" badge on my site, which links right to the OWH site, if you would like some more information on how to make and send cards to our heroes.

Here is my birthday card for the "Anything Goes" challenge

Hoppy Spring!

Everyone has Spring on the mind, so I thought I would make a "Hoppy Spring" card. The snow has melted here and the days are getting warmer and warmer. Spring is on it's way!

HOW TO MAKE:
The base is 4 inches by 6 inches. I used a printed piece of paper from one of my DCWV paper packs
The frog was cut using my Cricut at 3 inches. I used my Create-A-Critter cartridge
Using the Plaintin SchoolBook Cartridge, I cut the grass at one inch
Hoppy Spring-the letters were cut at one inch using my Alphalicious cartridge. I doodled on them using my green gel pen
flower stickers-I have had them for a long time. I added them in to add a little color
