Challenge #6-Special Birthday Challenge
April 24th, 2011
No cards this week! Instead, the challenge is to create something you would use for a birthday party! You can create birthday gift packaging, an invitation, cupcake wrappers, banners, treat boxes, etc. Anything for a birthday party!
I created a little favor box. I have never made one of these before, so it was fun to make something different and little out of my comfort zone.
Get out your creativity and create something fun for a birthday party! Looking forward to seeing all of your great creations!
How to make:
I cut this favor box using my "Once Upon A Princess" cartridge. I cut it using the "fit to page" button.
I assembled the box. I added a ribbon handle using white ribbon and brads.
Using all left over scraps, I adhered paper to fit the size of the box. I made a border at the top using my border punch, and added buttons.
The "Happy Birthday" stamp was purchased at Joanne's.
Thank you card

Also, mark your calendars! May 7th I will be having a Teacher Appreciation blog hop. I hope you can join us and hop along and see all the great teacher gift ideas.
Hope you are all having a good week!

Birthday Sundaes Challenge #5
April 17th, 2011
Happy Birthday Sundae! This week, the theme is to create a birthday card with an "anything goes" theme. I created this monkey card using my Create-A-Critter cartridge, which is my absolute favorite cartridge.
I dedicated all my spare time last week to creating cards for Operation Write Home. They are need of child friendly cards for Moms and Dads, who are serving our country overseas, to send to their children.
HOW TO MAKE:
Size: A2 (4.25×5.5)
Base: light beige paper from Recollections from Micheals
Dark Green Mat: cut at 4 1/4 by 5 1/8 inches
Polka dot mat: cut at 5 and 3 3/4 inches. This paper is from Dots, Stripes, and Polka Dots from DCWV
Monkey and Vine: cut at 3 inches from Create-A-Critter cartridge
Stamp: This Happy Birthday stamp was purchased at Joanne's Fabric. The ink is "Studio g"
Doodling: done with my white gel pen
COME JOIN US THIS WEEK AT BIRTHDAY SUNDAES! It's a fun "anything goes" theme, so join us with a fun birthday card. I am looking forward to seeing some great cards this week! Have a good week!
All Creatures Great and Small Blog Hop
April 14th, 2011
Welcome to All Creatures Great and Small Blog Hop!
Operation Write Home recently put out a call for child friendly cards, which our hero’s could send home to their children. So, I got out my Create-A-Critter cartridge and made this cute monkey card.
Then, I decided I should make a card that would be more for little girls, so I made this card.
Then, I decided to make a set of each. I made the monkey cards with a sentiment that says "Hi!"
Then, I made this set…
There are 16 cards in all to mail to Operation Write Home. I am very happy to be part of this organization. I don't have any family or friends serving over seas, but for those of you who do have loved ones serving our country, they are the true heroes of our country and we wish them a safe return home.
If you would like to make a card or several cards for this organization or would like to learn more about Operation Write Home, click HERE.
Did you say blog candy? I have a little bit of blog candy for you today. Since the theme for today is all creatures great and small, I decided to give a lucky person this cute poodle stamp.
And this mini stamp set too…
All you have to do is leave me a comment. If you are not a follower and would like to be, my follower button is on the right hand side. Scroll down and you will see it along with all the great people who follow me day to day. I will pick a winner on Monday.
Thank you for visiting Jen's Craft Corner. Enjoy the hop!
