Think Spring! The air is warm, the flowers are starting to grow….
March 28th, 2012
Spring is here and the warm weather is on it's way. Of course, it was in the 80's here last week, now suddenly it's in the 40's and 50's and gray and rainy. With the gray weather here, I decided it was time to sit down and make a bright flowery card.
I have been wanting to make this cute little flower pot card for a long time. I have seen so many fellow bloggers make these adorable cards and decided it was time to cross it off my "To Do" list. I had fun putting this card together. I think it's just adorable.
Here is the card with the insert inside of it:
Here is the insert with it's pot. I heat embossed the "Think Spring" sentiment with pink embossing powder. The flowers are stickers from Joanne's Fabric. They were in the dollar bin and I knew they would work perfectly for this card. I used pop dots underneath them to give them some depth.
RECIPE:
This is an SVG file from: MyScrapChick.com
Flowers: stickers from the dollar bin at Joanne's
Paper: All the paper used was from my scrap bin
Ribbon: Sugar N' Spice (Michaels)
Stamp: Studio 112 (Michaels).
Heat embossed with Recollections pink embossing powder
Doodling: white gel Sakura pen
I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Really Resonable Ribbon: Spring With Ribbon theme

Get Sketchy!
March 18th, 2012
It's another Sunday at Amanda's Crafts and More! This week, the challenge is to Get Sketchy! Create a layout using a sketch of your choice!
This week, I made a page for my son's book. It was fun and easy making this page using the sketchge was made entirely in SCAL (Sure Cuts A Lot).
I used this sketch from Scrapbooksetc.com to create this page:

Just some time in the craft room…3 cards done!
March 9th, 2012
This afternoon, I decided to give myself some much needed craft time in my craft corner. I just wanted to sit down, make a card, clean up, and then cook dinner and get some house work done. I was perusing Pinterest and came across a simple, yet elegant card that I decided I would scraplift, make 10 of them, and donate them to Operation Write Home.
This card was scraplifted from Pinterest. I wish I knew what site this card was pinned from, so I could thank them for the beautiful card idea. Here's the first card I made:
I loved playing with the black and white paper and I was on a crafty roll, so I made this card. This card was inspired from a sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. I love the clean look of the lines and the simplicity of the card. I heat embossed the flourish. I am new at this and I am having so much fun playing with my stamps and embossing powders.
Then, I had some scraps left, so I made this card too:
Hope you all have a great weekend!

March 7th, 2012
Jinger Adams is looking for a design team! She is looking for several new design team members and asked those crafters, who were interested, to post a BRAND NEW project that shows your own personal style, and link it to Jinger's blog, as well as The Scrapbooking Queen's blog. There are several spots to fill and I would be honored to be one of them.

Teacher Thank You Card
March 7th, 2012
It's hard to believe it's March and it's that time of year to start thinking about saying,"Thank you!" to those special teachers you have loved and appreciated all year. I was thinking about all the upcoming events I have this Spring and wanted to get a head start on some special cards. My son is finishing preschool and he was blessed to have such a wonderful teacher. So, with her in mind, I made this card. Now, I just have to make three more of these this weekend and then I can start thinking about their end of the year gifts.
Recipe:
Card-A2 card size. Made with primary red paper
Apple-SVG file, doodling with White gel Sakura pen, and a peachy keen face.
Patterned Paper- Well, I have to admit, it was from my scrap bin.
The inspiration for the card came from this sketch:
“Color Me Lucky!” Let’s Get Scrappy!
March 3rd, 2012
Another Sunday means another fun challenge at Amanda's Crafts and More! This week, the challenge is to use GREEN on your layout.
Here is the page I created for this challenge:
I don't often use green on my layouts. I guess it isn't a color that I often think of using. So, for this layout, I found some paper that had green and pink. I also had a card that a friend had sent me a while ago that I saved because I thought the images were adorable on it. I grabbed that card, cut out the images and the words, and used it on the layout. I just love the bear on it!
This month, our sponsor is:
