Making Bread In A Bag

I love bread, my kids love bread, hubby loves bread, we all love bread! I have been on a baking-bread kick and trying different recipes, I am even considering buying a bread machine. Have you ever looked at the bread labels at the store? There are so many added chemicals these days, I almost feel guilty making toast for my family. So, I have decided I am going to bake my own bread! This particular recipe was snatched from The Creative Homemaker.

It's quite simple to make…
First, get your ingredients ready:

DRY INGREDIENTS:
Gallon Size Ziploc Bag
2 cups of flour
1 tsp. of salt
2 tsps. of sugar
1 envelope of yeast

WET INGREDIENTS:
3/4 cup of hot water
1 tbsp. of oil

Put all your dry ingredients in a bag, close the bag, and shake well. Then, add your wet ingredients. Squish and knead the dough in the bag. Be careful, the hot water makes the dough and the bag a little hot too. When the dough is clumped together and moves around freely in the bag, you can take it out.

It will look like this in the bag.

Now, I put a heaping spoon full of flour on the counter and had my son pat his hands in flour and begin kneading the dough a little more. He thought this was great!

After a few minutes of kneading the dough, you will feel the dough start to expand. It's time to put the dough aside for a few hours and let it rise.

I put my dough in a bread pan with a towel on top. I let it rise for a few hours, while we watched it pour and rain outside. Literally, thundered and poured here all afternoon!

After a few hours of letting it rise, I put in the oven at 350 for 30 minutes.

Here it is! I also made a Minnestrone Soup and everyone enjoyed dipping the bread in their soup. Yummy!
